What is the NC Coastal Envirothon?
The Envirothon program is a competitive event for five member high school and middle school teams to compete in a natural resources knowledge and ecology field day against other high school and middle school teams. It stimulates, reinforces and enhances students’ interest in the environment and our state’s natural resources.
The NC Coastal Envirothon is a qualifying event for the state Envirothon competition; the NC Coastal Envirothon is held annually at the Cool Springs Environmental Education Center and is traditionally scheduled to take place on the third Tuesday of March. It allows teams from Area 5 and Area 6 to compete against one another to win a spot at the N.C. State Envirothon held in Burlington, N.C. in April.
